Thursday 3rd October

Today was the first art skills class. This week saw us journeying around the building and grounds taking abstract photos so we had to experiment with angle, blur, colour, etc to get interesting photos. I didn’t have a camera but my ipad came in very handy here.

Then after break was digital painting. Our first tasks were to make a gradient without using the gradient tool and to paint a building entirely in greyscale.

After lunch was animated thinking. Today was really just the introduction. For next week we have to look up the set reading (article to read) for our group and talk to the class about what we learnt. That might be a little difficult for me as I am no public speaker. But I’ll try my best.

Class ended early so I went back to the halls and relaxed and drew. I have a bunch of bubbline ideas and I’m looking forward to drawing them.

I had a bit of a disaster in the kitchen tonight. I was gonna make myself carbonara and the sauce was cooking in the microwave. I was cooking the pasta and went to add some salt. Mistake! The salt shaker’s lid just fell off and most of the salt went into the pasta. It was disgusting so tonight’s dinner was a bowl of cereal and breadsticks with cheese dip. Oh well, as a student you have to be thankful for what you have I guess. On the upside it gave me an idea fora short bubbline comic which you’ll see in the next few days. Anyway, time for bed. Night!
